The Marqués de Riscal reservations are made basically from grapes coming from vines over 15 years from the Tempranillo, located on the best soils of calcareous clay Rioja Alavesa. This variety holds up well the oak aging and bottle aging thanks to its good acid balance and its fine tannins. Graciano and Carignan varieties, whose percentage in the mixture does not exceed 10%, bring freshness and vividness of color. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of 26 ° C with a soaking time not exceeding 12 days. Riscal's reserves remain about two years in American oak barrels, forming a wine that fits within the canons of classicism Rioja, fresh, fine, elegant with great aging potential. Before leaving the market has a minimum period of refinement in the bottle a year.
